Fan Club Marks 40th Anniversary

This month, we celebrate the 40th anniversary of our fan club—a remarkable milestone built on four decades of enthusiasm, friendship, and shared memories.

The passion that brought the first members together in 1986 still shines today. We thank everyone who helped sustain this club, from the Abbott and Costello families themselves, through longtime members, to newcomers. Your loyalty and spirit have made these forty years unforgettable.

We also welcome the possibilities of the years to come. May the next chapter bring new reasons to share our appreciation of Bud and Lou.

If you’re an Abbott and Costello fan but not a memeber yet,  you’ve already benefited from the Fan Club. When the club started, only five Abbott and Costello movies were available on home video. Club members successfully lobbied Universal and MGM to release every Abbott and Costello film on home video. By providing a ready market, the club has inspired other companies to issue the boys’ TV series on home video as well as posters, T-shirts, dolls, and other collectibles. Through our efforts, the U.S. Postal Service issued a commemorative Abbott and Costello postage stamp.

We have plans to do more. We think Bud and Lou deserve honorary Academy and Emmy Awards. By joining the club, you can help us achieve these and other goals.
