New BBC Radio 2 documentary about Bud and Lou
BBC Radio 2 has produced an hour-long documentary about Bud and Lou in its series called “Double Acts.” The program includes some audio clips and interviews with daughters Paddy and Chris Costello.
The episode is narrated by 80-year-old former EastEnders actress Dame Barbara Windsor.
“I remember watching Abbott and Costello in my teens and I absolutely loved them,” said Dame Barbara. “I’m happy to pay tribute to them as two of America’s leading funny men.”
Radio 2 boss Lewis Carnie said: “As one of entertainment’s national treasures, I was delighted when Barbara agreed to narrate this documentary profiling one of the world’s most talented double acts.”
Other episodes of “Double Acts” will tell the story of British female comedy act Gert and Daisy (sisters Florence and Doris Waters); Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis; and Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy.
The Abbott and Costello episode is posted here and will be available until late August.
