Will Harley Quinn’s pet hyenas, Bud and Lou, be in her new film?

DC Comics’ supervillain Harley Quinn is a female sidekick and love interest of the Joker. When she was first introduced on Batman: The Animated Series in 1992, she was accompanied by a pair of very protective pet hyenas named Bud and Lou.

The character (played by Margot Robbie) appeared in the 2016 film Suicide Squad without Bud and Lou. But according to sources, Bud and Lou are likely to be in her upcoming stand-alone film, Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn), next year. In photos taken on set, Harley is seen inside a shop called Murray’s Exotic Animals, looking into some cages. Although it’s not clear what she’s looking at, fans believe it must be Bud and Lou.
